An irrigation permit i$ required - please contact Protective Inspections at 681-4675.
Fees
Commercial project: $25.50 irrigation permit to cover installation of backflow preventer.
$50.50 water-permit fee only if new service is installed. - ^4

Residential project: $20.50 irrigation permit to cover installation of backflow preventer.
$50.50 water permit fee if new service is installed.
$760.00 per connection - WAr.
$396.00 per connection - water treatment facility.
Existing residence: $20.50 irrigation permit to cover installation of backflow preventer - (not
required if backflow preventer previously installed).
Meter charge: If gallons per minute are less than 25, a 1" meter will be required at a cost of
$182.00. If gallons per minute are more than 25, a 2" turbo with strainer will
be required at a cost of $822.00. This information is to be supplied by the
designer of the system.
No meter will be sold before all sewer and water inspections are complete on anew service. f n w
service lines are not required, one check maybe written for meter and permit costs. Receipt will be coded
to 20-3716 (meter portion only) with pink copy forwarded to Utility Billing Clerk.
The installer is to contact Protective Inspections at 681-4675 for inspection of the inside water line and
backflow preventer. The Public Works Department may be reached at 681-4300 for water turn-on and set
and seal of the meter. Inspection hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Requests for
A.M. inspections should be made on the preceding work day. Requests for PM inspections will be accepted
until 12:00 noon.

Regarding our telephone conversation concerning the lighting power budget for the Farm Bureau
Center in Eagan, construction of the building is planned as a design/build project and a building
permit is desired as soon as possible. Tenant spaces in the building have not been determined to
date.
In lieu of the lighting budget forms at this time we are stating that the design and construction of
the building will meet the applicable regulations of Minnesota Rules Chapter 7670, June 1994.
The appropriate lighting power budget forms, lighting layout and lighting fixture schedule will be

Please find enclosed a copy of our Code Analysis for the captioned project, along with a letter from our
Electrical Engineer regarding the lighting loads on the building. Also included is a draft of a letter
addressing the special inspections required for the project- The original will be forwarded to you once the
various parties have signed the document, A schedule will be developed after a testing agency is secured.
It is my understanding that the General Contractor has requested a footing and foundation permit in order to
begin work on the site. If you require any further information before that permit can be issued please
contact either myself or Mr. Jim Miller at our office.
The plans previously submitted will be revised and resubmitted to more completely describe the project as
T'm sure you will require before a full building permit can be issued. In the mean time, we would like to
request that the present drawings be treated as a "preliminary" submission for the purpose of establishing a
dialog between your department and our office.
