Grading/Drainage Concerns COUNCIL MEMBERS Dear Mr. Bubbers: Thomas Hedges CIiY AOMINISTFATOR It has been brought to the City's attention that there are some drainage concerns related to your property currently under construction at 945 Chole Lane. I recently verified this in the field. Our concern lies with the elevation of the driveway, because if the culvert gets plugged or overwhelmed during a heavy rain event the emergency overland route is over the driveway. Currently the high point of the driveway is 0.89 feet higher then the catch basin rim and only 0.04 feet lower then the bottom of the walkout door at 949 Chole Ln. Normally we like to see a separation of one foot in a situation like this is, rather than the MUNICI7AL CENTER 0.04 foot. We are willing to accept 0.50 foot separation at finished grades in this case 3830 Pilot Knob Road because of the small watershed area and surrounding topography. An additional concern is if the catch basin becomes plugged and water can't drain via the emergency overflow, Eagan, MN 55122-1810 it would likely flood the adjacent sanitary lifr station. 651.675.5000 phone 651.675s012 fax To remedy this situation there aze two things I need to ask of you. First, the catch basin 651.454.8535TDD casting cunently in place is prone to plugging. This casting must be immediately replaced with a Neenah R-4342 Ditch Grate, Stool Type, or approved equal. Second, when you get to the point of grading the driveway we would like to be notified prior to the start of the work. We would like to wark with you to insure the proper grade is MAINTENANCE FAqUN achieved and the overland swale is constructed properly. I can't stress enough how 3501 Coachman Point important it is that this work is done and done correctly.
