On Tuesday, May 31, 1983 I drove by your residence and observed that the
chimney did come through a garage window and went vertically up the side of
the garage. The chimney appears to be single wall pipe. This is not a
legal chimney. There also appeared to be some soot at the top of the
chimney.
If the chimeny is connected to a solid fuel appliance, it should be a Class
A chimney. The pipe going through the window should be approved for that
application. The appliance connected to the chimney should be located so
that the burner is at a minimum of 18" off the floor in a garage area.
If you have any questions on how to correct this problem, please feel free
to call the City of Eagan Protective Inspection Department at 454-8100.

Dear Ms. Vanzee:
This letter is in regard to your property and house located at 1721 Deerwooi
,Drive, Eagan, Minnesota.
We, as a neighborhood, work hard to keep our homes and property in good
condition. We take pride in the way they look and are very much concerned
with the condition of your house and property. There are many things that
need your attention. Listed below are our main concerns:
1. No lawn has ever actually been put in. The dandelions and other weeds
are so out of control that the neighboring property owners are fighting
a losing battle.
2. The couch that has been sitting in the back of the house since January
is very undesirable to look at. It has been snowed on, rained on and is
now deteriorating. This can be a breeding place for mice, rats, etc., as
well as an "eye sore" for the neighborhood.
3. The condition of the outside of the house. The house has never been
repainted or repairs made in anyway since it was built. It has gradually
become worse each year and needs much attention now.
4. Also the stove pipe coming out from the garage window, this only makes
the appearance worse.
We, as concerned residents, are urging you to please take action on these
matters now. We are sure you too, would be concerned if this situation
existed in your neighborhood. Thank you.
