Mr. Novaczyk,
I am writing this letter, after speaking with you on the telephone today, to formalize my request for
extension of permit #EA084170. The last inspeclion was made on 9/23/2008 and 180 days is drawing near
from ihis last inspec[ion Please note the pernut is for a new garage/workshop addition and for the
replacement of doors and windows and siding and re-roof of the emire shuchue [existing new addition]. I
wanted to pmvide you with a more formal written note to substantiate my eatension request and express my
appreciafion for your understanding and ezRension of the permit.
After the floor insulation was apprwed 9/23/2008, I completed the concrete floor of the addition. I also
installed new soffe[ and fascia around the entire building, both ezcisting and new construction and installed
new guuers and down-spouts. I also completed most of the final grading of the yard for seeding or sod in
the spring of 2009. I felt it best to do this for proper drainage and run-off over the winter and spring fliaw.
I also correc[ed the framing issues requririno correction as fouml in the partial inspec[ion on 9/2/2008. I
also replaced the old garage doorjambs and added new jambs to the newly constructed third stall. I
pwchased two new garage doors; replacement for the old and a new door for the new conslmchion 1 also
purchased new doors and windows for the garage addirion. I also applied for the electrical permit.
The abwe efforLS were completed by mid-December 2008. I say tlds to assure you that I have indeed been
busy and work has continued on the projec[ but choose to do work related to winterizing and spring thaw
and not wiring rough-in, etc. for a final franting inspection. I thought I could then work inside the building
during the winter.
My inteMion was to make good use of my yeady mandatory three week time off at year end to make
progress on the addi6on but I unforiunately through an accident duxing construc[ion in late December could
not use my right hand for working on the building project for mer a month. In fact my injury is still not
fully healed. A 2x6 stud with a protruding nail fell onto my ttand with the nail's targe[ the middle kmickle
of my right hand pointer finger. Since I am right tianded ihis brought an end to consWCtion and my
mandatory time off during which I ktad hoped [o make progress on the addition tumed imo idle time.
I am trying to save money by doing a bt of the work myself and I consider myself quite capable to do the
project bui only if able to use my right hand
I appreciate greatly an extension to the pemiit that will allow me to complete the addition and replace all of
the windows and doors and install new siding over-all.
