The City of Eagan has seen tremendous growth in the last ten years. Our population increased 129% from 1980 to 1990; from 20,700 to 47,409. We have an estimated population of 50,000 at this time. Development in the Eagan, both residential and commercial, reflects this growth in population. In 1991 alone, 633 single family housing permits were issued. According to the 1990 Census, the median value of an owner-occupied housing unit was $104,300. The Bridle Ridge development, located just south of Wescott Road on Elrene, is evidence of some of the newer development in Eagan. Development of this 249 lot single family neighborhood began in 1987, and is nearly complete today. Bridle Ridge is located just over a mile from Ss. Martha & Mary, and has a median home value of approximately $160,000. Adjacent to the Bridle Ridge development is the Hills of Stonebridge neighborhood. This area, a total of 224 single family lots, was approved for development in 1987. The median value of homes in this neighboorhood is approximately $180,000. Another area that has seen excellent growth is the Lexington Pointe neighborhood, located less than one mile from your church, just south of Diffley Road on Daniel Drive.
