Dear Mr. & Mrs. Miller:
The City of Eagan received your petition from the residents of
Fairway Hills subdivision. We received it on September 26, 1989.
After receiving the petition, the City of Eaqan, Protective
Inspections Department, went out and visually looked at some of
your concerns as far as trash debris on vacant lots and trash, in
general, in front of the houses under construction in the
subdivision. The builders were talked to about keeping their
places neat and clean during the construction of these structures.
On different occasions, we have driven by and made visual
inspections of the houses under construction. I have tried to call
your number, your residence, during the day and I haven't had any
success with anybody being home. At this point, I am sending you
this letter to let you know what we have done and if things have
changed or improved in your neighborhood.

On September 26 I received a petition from residents of the Fairway
Hills subdivision regarding construction debris from A1 Herrmann
and Sons Construction Companies.
Steve Hanson and I toured this subdivision on September 27 to view
construction debris on empty lots and new houses under
construction. There seemed to be little, if any debris, on vacant
lots; there was some construction debris that was piled for pick-
up on houses presently under construction. We did not observe
construction debris in anyone's yard. There were some empty
nursery containers in some empty lots, not knowing where they came
from. To make sure this wasn't just an isolated case, I will have
our inspectors stop by once a week, checking the debris situation
in this subdivision and to meet with the two contractors, or their
representatives, that were mentioned in the petition to make sure
construction debris is kept at a minimum. Some of the problem
could be that there are only a few empty lots left and with all the
other yards being landscaped, anything that blows around is a
problem to residents of this new subdivision.
