Councilmember Wachterwas contacted by Melissa Rick of 4392 Garden Trail conceming
a property at 4374 Garden Trail which is not being maintained to neighborhood standards.
I understand that Erik Slettedahl has been coordinating property maintenance complaints
on behalf of the department. He may or may not have been in touch with Ms. Rick
previously. Her number is 454-8494.
In the course of her conversation with our office, Ms. Rick shared the attached copy of
an ordinance from the City of Rosemount regarding building and property mainfenance.
Please have Erik or another member of your staff review this ordinance to determine
whether the City would have substantially more authority or greater ability to enforce
building and property maintenance requirements under such an ordinance.
I realize your department is extremely busy at the present time. I would like to provide
some response to Ms. Rick in the near future with respect to both the property in question
and the ordinance. Let me know when your department can provide such a review and
retum to me.
