and whether ox not it could be built to the size I wanted. He said to quiekly sketch something out, fill out the Bldg
Pennit ( so he had all tbe information he needed) and he would talce a quick look at it and teli me if it was
something that could be buiit, so I could go to my architect. Two dava la r I g a m esage that mv buildina

hallways, fireplace, deck ect..). I also left a message far (Holly I believe her name was ) that I was not going to
be building the addition after her second attempt to cantact me. So again due to the verbal Ihe verbal agreement
between the Bldg Inspector and me and the vague Bldg Pernut application where ihe is no mention of this billing
policy, l feel there is no justification far the city of Eagan imoice #8651 Por $272.92 dated 9-25-2000.

Sub. to reading your letter dated October 8, 2000 and reviewing your file, the plans, and application that
are in our offtce to construct a 36' x 40' addition. It appears the building permit is dated March 7, 2000.
The notes on the application that our office called the phone numbers listed on your application listed on
3-9-00, 3-24-00, 6-7-00, and also 8-16-00. I did not find any notes where there has been correspondence
from you indicating your change in canceling your project. Our City policy is to h-y to let the applicant
know the status of their application. If we do not hear anything different, we assume the project is still
continuing.
The City of Eagan in its Fee Schedule has a fee for "canceled permit processing fee". The fee is 50% of
the plan review fee. This is to recover part of the expenses the City has gone through in processing your
application. A copy of our fee schedule is enclosed. It is unfortunate that you have ehanged your mind
on continuing your project at this time, but our department is required to follow the City's rules and
regulations as they are adopted.
