Item 1. Fire Department/Sale oP Grass Rig 1rvck--The Fire Department recently accepted
delivery on and placed in service a new grass rig. The new unit replaced a 1970 Ford F250
(4X4) grass rig truck. To dispose of the truck, an ad was placed in the League of Minnesota
Cities publication and bids were accepted through Friday, September 17, 1993. The bids
received were as follows:
1. Daniel Deike $2,600
2. Michael Scott 1,225 °
3. Dennis Berry 1,000
It is the recommendation of the Fire and Finance Departments that the lugh bid of $2,600
be accepted and that the velvcle be sold to Mr: Deike.
In the same publication, the City also offered for sale the pumper that has recently been
replaced. No bids were received on that unit and staff will be reviewing other options to
dispose of the vehicle.
ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED ON THIS ITEM: To accept the tugh bid of $2,600 and
authorize the sale of the 1970 Ford F250 to Daniel Deike.
Item 2. Policy & Procedure Regarding Recruitment of Community Service Ofticers--As the
Council is aware, the Police Department has been worldng on the development of the
recruitment and selection process for Community Service Officer candidates. Involved in
this development have been members of police management and the Police Association
Also involved have been Assistant to the City Adminisuator Duffy and members of the
community. The poliry and procedure have been developed and have been approved by the
City's labor attomey. It is the recommendation of the Chair of the CounciPs Personnel
Committee that the policy and procedure be presented to the City Council at this time.
Enclosed without page number is a copy of th'e policy and procedure document for the
CounciPs information. -

Item 1. Vacate Drainage & Utility Easements, Receive Petition/Schedule Public Hearing
(Lots 23 & 24, Block 1, Lakeview Trail Addition)-The staff has received a petidon
requesting the vacation of common lot line drainage and utiliry easements over the above-
referenced lots which are being replatted into the Lakeview Trail 2nd Addition. All
application material has been submitted, reviewed by staff and found to be in order for
favorable Council action of scheduling a public hearing to formally present and discuss the
meriu of this request.
ACI'ION TO BE CONSIDERED ON THIS ITEM: To receive the petition to vacate
drainage and utility easements for Lots 23 & 24, Block 1, Lakeview Trail Addition and
schedule a public hearing to be held on October 19, 1993.
