Hi John,
I have.been keeping up with the email exchanges between you and Tom. Thanks for your kindness and
follow up.
Tom, Paul and I spent some time looking at the drainage concerns between Greyhawk Development and
Lakewood on Friday morning. We looked at the survey map you gave Paul at the meeting and
considered the effect any additional water draining onto Lakewood property could have. We concluded
the long berm on Lakewood property was not a good solution for Lakewood.
We noted the grave risk from standing water or elevated soil line that a long berm would cause to the
tree fence and the only mature tree on Lakewood at that site. To risk these trees would not be right.
It appears to me that it would be possible for Greyhawk Development to build some type of low rise
(lawn berm) to eliminate runoff onto Lakewood property. This should hardly be noticeable to any
Greyhawk resident, but is easily the reasonable way to approach this. I envision a small rise along the
tree fence on Greyhawk so the water remains on Greyhawk. (Of course, the down slope through the tree
fence would remain.)
After this plan between the City and developer is in place, I'd expect to work with you on what is
appropriate to further alleviate the concerns Lakewood has about the inadequate drain and runoff from
Lakewood property.
When is your meeting with Greyhawk? I'd like to request:
1. that you and the developer come to an agreement about [he small rise on Greyhawk to eliminate
runoff onto Lakewood;
2. if you and Greyhawk cannot come to an informai agreement about the rise, Paul and I would like
to meet with the developer.
Please cc Tom as I do not check my Hotmail often. I look forward to timely hearing from you. If the
above does not lead us to agreement, please be sure ro manage the time and process so that we might
timely approach individual CounciI members and the Council. We are sure they will take great interest.
I suspect you are spending more time and effort on this than some others might think necessary. As the

Hi John,
Thanks for the prompt email this morning. As Tom mentioned, I was in
meetings all day.
We did not make some declaration that your "proposed drainage solution" is
"not a workable and most economical solution..." Frankly, we did not focus on
the economics of the solution - we know that Greyhawk will be responsible
for what's accomplished on their property, as they should. We were looking
for the most reasonable, sensible way to handle this and putting the trees
at risk was kind of the final clincher for us. Mike had already spoken to
the importance of that.
Last fall, we put in a berm near the inadequate City drain, and as soon as
you and Greyhawk come to agreement that they will eliminate drainage onto
Lakewood, we know we will need to quickly make decisions regarding our own
drainage situation back there. So, please stay tuned for that as we will
ask for the City's timely input, with the hope that we can fold whatever we
are going to do, if anything, into our regrading project that will fire up
again any day now.
But, first things first. We have a Lakewood Board meeting scheduled for
tomorrow early evening and I would love to receive your email report prior
to that informing us that Greyhawk agrees to include in its development
adequate components that it wi11 "keep water flow from reaching Lakewood
property".
I received and appreciated Tom's heads up to you earlier today  for
what it's worth.
Thanks for your kind engagement in all of this. I look forward to hearing
of the agreement and moving on to our next focus together.
