In addition to the fire extinguisher locations noted on the plans, coverage should be extended to protect the existing portions of the structure. Compliance with the Fire Code, including UFC Standard No. 10-1 should be verified with the City's Fire Marshal. Existing door 202B must be equipped with a closer and smoke gasketing (weatherstripping) on the head and side jambs. Verify that doors 103A, 116, and 129 will be provided with door-leaf closing-corridators. Water resistant gypsum board may not be used over'vapor-barriered" walls or on ceilings. An alternate material must be used. See UBC Section 4712 for additional details. Check (south) wall specifications of rooms 208, 216, and 217. Also, check specified ceilings in rooms 212, 215, and 217. The run of stairway steps must be not less than 11" as measured horizontally between the vertical planes of the furthermost projection of adjacent treads. Correct the design of stairway #123. - UBC 3306(c). Verify that panic hardware will be provided on doors 103B, 129, 133, 135A, 135B, 135C, 137A, 137B, and 200. See UBC Sections 3318(a) and 33190). Verify that all fire and draftstopping will be installed as required with UBC 2516(f). Check for interconnecting concealed spaces at soffits and drop ceilings. ti Fire dampers must be installed in both new and existing ducts (which have openings into corridor) penetrating the projected corridor 106. Ductwork at door 103B must be modified to provide the exit corridor with a clear ceiling height of not less than 7' - UBC 3305(c). The existing roofing consists of a built up roof system with insulation, installed over a metal deck. Les Jones Roofing will be bidding on installing a new roof system over the existing. We propose to do the following work. Notes: Other roof areas are not included in this proposal. SPECIFICATIONS Area: South section of school - Approximately 3400 sq. ft Preparation 1. We will sweep loose gravel and debris from the roof. Ail gravel and debris will be disposed of. 2. We will check for any wet areas of insulation. Wet areas will be removed. Replacement of wet insulation will be an additional cost. Wood Nailer 1. Wood nailer will be installed around the perimeter of the roof area to accommodate the height of the new insulation. Insulation 1. We will install one layer of 2 used isocyanurate insulation. The church will be responsible for getting the insulation there. R value = 12.1. 2. Insulation will be mechanically fastened with screws and plates. The insulation will be sumped at drains. 4. The total R value with the new and existing insulation will be approximately R=26 which exceeds MN Energy Code Requirements of R=22.2. Roof Membrane 1. 60 mil EPDM will be adhered over the insulation. 2. Reinforced perimeter fastening strip will be installed around the perimeter of the roof section and at curbs. We will adhere EPDM to the reinforced perimeter fastening strip and flash up and over the perimeter walls. 4. We will adhere EPDM to the reinforced perimeter fastening strip and flash up and over the tops of the curbs. S. We will install preformed EPDM boots on the plumbing stacks. 6. The existing roof drains will be flashed with EPDM. 7. Two pitch pans will be installed and flashed with EPDM. Metal All metal will be 24 gauge prefinished metal in your choice of any UnaClad standard color 1. Keeper metal will be installed at the perimeter. Coping metal will be installed, locking onto the keeper. Joints will be covered with joint covers. Warranty Les Jones Roofing will issue a 10 year watertight warranty.
