3.0 Description
3.1 General — WeatherRealy 868,
WeatherReady— 868K and Tamko" Envision
PVC deckboards are an extruded solid cellular
poly vinyl chloride (PVC) product that is intended
for use as a walking surface on exterior decks,
balconies, porches, and walkways.
3.2 The deckboards have a solid rectangular
profile measuring 1 inch thick by 5'/z inches
wide. The edges are rounded with a 3/16 inch
radius. WeatherReady '� deckboards are
embossed with a simulated wood grain on both
wide faces The Envision PVC has the wood
grain embossed on one face. Both boards are
available with 3/96 inch wide x 13/32 inch deep
slots cut into the longitudinal edges to accept

3.3 All deckboards are manufactured in sand,
golden rod, or slate colors. An optional solar
reflective coating can be applied to the boards
which creates a matte finish. WeatherReady
�'
boards that receive this four sided coating
continue to be identified as sand, golden rod,
and slate colors. Envision PVC boards that are
three side coated (not coated on the smooth
face) are identified as sand, taupe, and grey
colors.
4.0 Performance Characteristics
4.1 WeatherReady"' and Envision PVC
deckboards are rated for a uniform live load of
100 Ibs/ft2 when installed on support framing
spaced at a maximum of 16 inches on center.
4.2 WeatherReady' and Envision PVC un-
slotted deckboards used as stair treads are
rated for the code -prescribed concentrated load
equal to 300 pounds when a continuous deck
board is installed over a two span support
measuring a maximum of 10 inches on center.
Slotted deckboards shall not be used for stair
treads.
4.3 WeatherReady- and Envision PVC un -
slotted deckboards have a minimum wind uplift
resistance rating of 100 Ib/ft2 when face -screwed
with #8 x 2' inch deck screws to support
framing spaced at 16 inches on center.
WeatherReady'" and Envision PVC slotted
deckboards have a minimum wind uplift
resistance rating of 190 Ib/ft2 when installed on
support framing spaced at 16 inches on center
and fastened with one Tiger Claw® TC -G
stainless steel hidden fastener at each joist
using #7 (1/8 inch diameter) by 1s/8 inch stainless
steel screws provided with the fasteners.
4.4 WeafherReady" and Envision PVC
deckboards have a flame spread index of 20
when tested according to ASTM E 84. The
referenced criterion, AC174, requires a flame
spread index not exceeding 200.
4.5 WeatherReady and Envision PVC
deckboards are deemed equivalent to
preservative -treated or naturally durable wood
for resistance to weathering effects, attack from
termites, and fungus decay.

4.6 Structural performance has been
demonstrated for a temperature range of from
-20°F to 135°F.
5.0 Installation
5.1 Installation shall be in accordance with the
manufacturer's installation instructions and this
report. Where differences occur between this
report and the manufacturer's installation
instructions, this report shall govern.
5.2 Face fastening of the deckboards shall be
with #8 x 2'/ inch deck screws. Two fasteners
are required at every joist 3/ inch from the side
and at least 1 inch from the end of the board.
Slotted deckboards shall be fastened with one
Tiger Claw® TC -G hidden fastener at each joist
using #7 (1/8 inch diameter) by 15/8 inch stainless
steel screws provided with the fasteners.
6.0 Supporting Evidence
6.1 Manufacturer's drawings and installation
instructions.
6.2 Reports of testing in accordance with
ICC -ES AC174 Acceptance Criteria for Deck
Board Span Ratings and Guardrail Systems
(Guards and Handrails), effective March 1,
2007.
6.3 Quality control manual in accordance with
ICC -ES Acceptance Criteria for Quality Control
Manuals, AC10, effective March 1, 2007.
7.0 Conditions of Use
WeafherReady'" and Envision PVC deckboard
applications identified in this report are deemed
to comply with the intent of the provisions of the
referenced building codes subject to the
following conditions:
7.1 WeatherReady and Envision PVC
deckboards are limited to use in Type V -B (5B)
construction in the IBC and dwellings regulated
in the IRC.
7.2 The wind uplift resistance rating
recognized in this report is based on attachment
to treated Southern Pine framing (average
specific gravity = 0.55). Installation on wood
framing with a lesser specific gravity may result
in a lower wind uplift rating.
7.3 Where required by the building official,
engineering calculations and details shall be
provided. The calculations shall verify that the
anchorage complies with the building code for
the type of framing and condition of the
supporting construction.

7.4 Deck boards used as stair treads shall be
a continuous deck board installed over a
minimum two span support with a maximum
span of 10 inches on center. Slotted deckboards
shall not be used for stair treads.
7.5 Compatibility of fasteners with the
supporting structure including chemically treated
wood or in a saltwater environment is not within
the scope of this report.
7.6 Only those types of fasteners and
fastening methods described in this report have
been evaluated for the installation of these
deckboards, other methods of attachment are
outside the scope of this report.
7.7 All deckboards are manufactured in
Cartersville, Georgia by the Gossen Corporation
in accordance with the manufacturer's approved
quality control system. Third party inspections
are conducted by Architectural Testing, Inc.
(ATI -AA 676).
8.0 Identification
Deckboards produced in accordance with this
report shall be identified with labeling on the
individual deck boards that includes the
following information: product name,
manufacturer, the mark of the independent
inspection agency ATI -AA 676, and the Code
Compliance Research Report Number "CCRR-
0124".
9.0 Code Compliance Research Report Use
9.1 Approval for building products and/or
materials can only be granted by a building
official having legal authority in the specific
jurisdiction where approval is sought.
9.2 Code Compliance Research Reports shall
not be used in any manner that implies an
endorsement of the product or manufacturer by
Architectural Testing, Inc.
