There are some additional repairs Fhich your pa3'ment does not cover, and these include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: `replacement of £urnace and duct work install gypsum board ceilings and finish removal of all interior stud walls and sill plates replacement of all insulation to meet code bringing electrical work up to current code The replacement of sill plates was verified by a thorough inspection of our house by Tim Johnson, an industrial hygienist from Bay West Inc., an environmental consulting firm which is used extensively by the State of Minnesota. In addition, Ron Spong, Dakota County health inspector, recommended the total replacement of all stud walls and sill plates. Doug Reed, chief building inspector for the City of Eagan, has insisted on the need for building permits for this repair project, and of course that includes bringing all electrical, insulation, etc, work up to current code to meet State of Minnesota standards. Tim Johnson also recommended that the entire upstairs of our house be cleaned, paying special attention to all horizontal surfaces and carpeting where any residues of the chemical may have lodged as they moved through the ventilation system into all parts of the house. Please refer back to our let.ter of Vovember 4, 7991, in uhich we listed not only the history of the events since the accident, but also our grave concerns about reparations which need to be made and the effect on the marketability of our house. We've enclosed a copy of that letter for you to peruse. In addition, we've enclosed an updated copy of our Flood Damage Report in which we verify- all of our personal items lost due to the accident and for which we expect to receiae compensation. (Out of that $13,664, we have received an advance of $5,000 from GAB.) We were told by Eagan officials to keep track of our personal time spent on this matter, since we would be reimbursed for it, especially in view of the mental anguish and time it has taken away from jobs and private family time.
