Dear Graig, Please let it be known that a Heat-N-Glo wood burning fireplace, model EM-415 at the above address, has been installed to manufactures specifications and in accordance with the Category I Energy Code. Category I does not address the need for additional outside air for solid fuel burning devices, but what we have found in newly constructed homes since the Energy Code has been in effect is a dramatic drop in call backs for woodburning appliances. The fact the direct vent furnace, water heater is not competing against the wood burner for combustion air has helped it performance.
