Dear Al:
As you requested, I visited the above resident to observe the condition of the existing garage
roof slab. Of concern was the proposed 2nd level addition over the existing garage structure.
You provided me with drawings indicating the proposed addidon size and construction.
T'he new addition will be approximately 18' z 20' in size and will bear typically 18
inside the perimeter of the existing garage. The garage slab is a 6" concrete slab bearing on
the east and west masonry wails. A 12" x 12" concrete beam spans north to south across the
middie of the garage. T'he existing gazage structure, slab, beam and masonry walls are in very
good to excellent condition.
Based on my review, I find that the existing garage roof slab and foundadon walls can
adequately support the proposed construc6on.
