The City of Eagan actively manages its right-of-ways and, by ordinance, regulates
the installation and maintenance of trees, shrubs and landscaping within or
affecting these areas. The ordinances are intended to protect and promote the

I am writing today about concerns the City has about the boulevard plantings on the
corner adjacent to your home. As they exist currently, they are a significant traffic and
sightline hazard. The challenge that motorists have seeing oncoming traffic obscured by
these shrubberies in their current condition is will only become worse as they mature and
continue to grow.
Attached to this letter is a drawing showing what the City uses as a guideline in order to
assure safe sightline visibility at corners far the traveling public and some digital pictures
of the corner.
I would like to set up a meeting with you at your convenience to try to determine what we
might do to remedy the situation. While it is not our intent to destroy existing
landscaping located in/on City Right of Way, we do want to make our roads as safe as
possible. Hopefully we can work ouY a plan to alter the shrub6eries or their positions that
will be acceptable.
