We have started our review of the construction documents submitted in pursuit of obtaining a
building permit for the above-referenced project. This review is not intended to be an exhaustive
and comprehensive report. Unless otherwise noted, all references are to the 1997 U.B.C. It is our
goal that this review will help you in complying with the applicable codes and we are, therefore,
requesting that the following items be addressed.
1. Accessible door clearances shall comply with Chapter 1341.0442, Subpart 6 of the
MSBC (Fig. 25). Please provide an addendum that details the changes to the existing
plan.
2. Provide detailed stucco specifications (lathe, paper, fasteners, flashing, eta)
3. Provide an addendum that specifies the use of tempered glazing at door sidelights,
complying with Sec. 2406.4, #6 of the 1997 UBC.
4. Provide attic draft stopping details complying with Sections 7083.1.2.2 and 7083.13 of
the 1997 UBC.
5. Provide an attic access detail complying with Sec. 1505.1 of the 1997 UBC.
6. An attic catwalk will be required by the Eagan Fire Marshall. Please provide details.
