EAGAN, MINNESOTA
December 9, 1976
A regular meeting of the Advisory Park Committee was held at 7;30 P.M. at the
City Hall on December 9, 1976. Those present were Chairman Lundsten, Coates,
Cooper, Beck, Martin, Roszak, and Brown. Also present were Barbara Schmidt, Tom
Hedges and Paul Hauge.
MINUTES. Upon motion by Roszak, seconded Beck, all members voting in favor,
it was RESOLVED that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved with the
elimination of the wording relating to the resolution favoring a pedestrian
walkway over the Cedar Avenue Bridge providing that it be "an extension of the
Minnesota River Trail ".
PARK AND OPEN SPACE MAP OF EAGAN. A map prepared by Urban Planning and
Design covering the park and open space property in existence together with the
proposed park and trails in the City of Eagan was reviewed. A number of comments
were made concerning revision to the map and they will be forwarded to Urban
Planning.
REPORT FROM COUNCIL MEETING. Tom Hedges reported that the Council had
approved the acquisition of a snow plow for the Park Department, hiring warming
house attendants, the hiring of Dennis Hergenroder as a part time ice rink main-
tenance man and further had taken no action concerning the pedestrian walkway
recommendation from the Park Committee regarding the Cedar Avenue Bridge. An
informative memo will be submitted to the Council concerning the Park Committee's
recommendation regarding the walkway.
REPLACEMENT OF PARK COMMITTEE MEMBER. Further consideration will be given to
a replacement on the Park Committee at the next meeting.
ORDINANCE NO. 49. A draft revioiou to Ordinance #49 submitted by John Roszak
was reviewed in dorms as was the draft of the Development Committee. The drafts
will be redone and submitted at the next meeting.

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE REPORT REGARDING PARRANTO PROPERTY.
Barbara Schmidt reported that there has been further consideration regarding the
single family development on the Inver Grove Heights boundary South of Highway # #55
and a suggestion has been made that the park land to be dedicated would be adjacent
to the land dedicated to the City of Inver Grove Heights to provide for a larger
and more consistent park.
SCHEDULE OF RINK LOCATIONS. A schedule of the locations for free skating
and hockey rinks in the City of Eagan was distributed.
