This letter is to inform you that the city of Eagan did experience a temporary surge in water pressure on August 12. However, all water heaters properly installed have a "blow-off" valve with a pre-set pressure reading of 125-150psi to handle terporary pressure surges in the water system without damaging the water heaters. Subsequently, if your water heater collapsed due to this pressure surge, it is a re- sult of a faulty pressure release valve on your water heater. We suggest you contact the manufacturer of your water heater to discuss the ramifications of this faulty pressure release valve, as it may affect your warranty on your water heater. In.amclusion, temporary water pressure surge experienced in our water system is not an unusual occurrence and as such, the City of Eagan does not accept responsibility for the problems that you incurred through the faulty pressure release valve on your water heater.
