This cost was incurred as a result of a new water service connection having to be installed due to the fact that the contractor,nor the City Maintenance Division, could not locate the water service that was verified by your firm as having been installed to this particular property. Record Plan Asbuilt Sheet No. 155 indicated that a water service was installed without referencing the location of this service. In addition, information received from your firm for assessment purposes directed the city to assess this property for water ser- vice. Therefore, it was the City's responsibility to insure that a water service was available as assessed and referenced on the record plan. Therefore, the City feels that the additional costs incurred for the installation of this water service should be the responsibility of your firm due to the fact of in- accurate and inccnplete information being supplied to the City to properly locate the original water service, if in fact it was installed. Please inform me as to your desires pertaining to direct payment to Weierke Trenching and Excavating Co.,or payment directly to the city of Eagan for reimbursement to the contractor.
