I was disappointed to read that Eagan will again have a water
shortage. I understand things like road construction can cause
problems, but why wasn't this taken into consideration when
planning the 1989 water supply ? Why aren't the other wells ready ?
This is the third connective year that wells have not been ready in
time for the summer watering season. We all realize Eagan is growing
rapidly, but why allow such rapid growth when you don't have an
adequate water supply.
I think this is inappropriate for two main reasons:
1) We, like many others, have invested a large amount of money in
our yard. We spend many evenings, weekends, and vacation time in
our back yard. There is no pleasure in looking at a brown lawn. Lawn
watering is always down played by Eagan as not being important. It
is important to many of us. We conserve water in other ways but like
to water our lawns, atleast in a limited time frame.
2) The old theory, just let your lawn go dormant it will come back,
is not true. Many people are redoing there yards this spring because
Eagan could not supply adequate water. Here we are a year later
with potentially the same situation.
Obiviously there are more important needs for water than lawns but
the point remains, there is no excuse for consistently having a water
shortage. July and August are dry months.
If a restriction is necessary I do consider a odd/even watering
system a good alternative. Hopefully this will be adequate for 1989.
If a further reduction is necessary, why doesn't Eagan go to a limited
hour watering(ie 10 pm to 6am) ? Other suburbs use this. Atleast it
gives one the option to do some limi d watering if one finds it
important.

You have retained Structural Resource Center LLC (SRC) to evaluate the limited roof truss damage and to
provide the structural engineering design of the truss
repairs at 1788 Silver Bell Circle, Eagan, MN 55122. This
report states the findings of my evaluation and design
repairs of the situation and the basis of information used
to arrive at these findings.
I made a site visit on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from
approximately 9:00 a.m. to approximately 9:45 a.m. Your
contractor, Steve Brager, and his roofing crew were
present for the site visit. At the time of the visit, not all the
existing roof sheathing and roofing was removed around
the suspected truss damage and damage was not noticed
while I was at the site. Your contractor later contacted me
that he found two truss diagonal members near the east
side of the roof near the ridge, just up from the skylight
location as seen in Image #4. The diagonals appeared to
be 2x4 members located between the ridge of the roof and
sloped away to the bottom chord panel point, (“panel
point” is where the diagonals meet the bottom chord of
the truss and the top chord of the truss fastened with gang
plate fasteners).
The truss members appeared to be cracked, but still
together between the top and bottom chord panel points
and the member appeared to be solid going into the panel
point. The appropriate repair would be to reinforce the
existing cracked areas of the diagonal member between
the panel points and leave the existing member in place.

Based upon your contractor’s reported fix of
the two fractured truss members (sistered 2x4
member on both sides with construction
adhesive (PL 400) and 3” screws at
approximately 6” on center along the length of
the sistered 2x) it is my engineering opinion as
a Minnesota licensed professional (structural)
engineer that this is an appropriate fix of the
damaged truss members.

Changes to the conditions of the existing structure not
specifically stated within this report are excluded from the
scope of services.

and/or fire separation issues, mold, asbestos, lead, radon,
or any other environmental conditions. The CLIENT shall be
responsible for obtaining the proper professionals for
these items.

the scope of this work but should be done correctly as
directed by the appropriate design and/or installation
