I met with Craig Knutson, a City engineering technician, at the job site and he suggested putting in a small berm to divert water from your backyard and keep sift and dirt out of the pool (this has happened twice, as far as the City knows). I will keep trying to get in touch with the contractor and discuss this problem with him.
