1/4" LVL header was installed over the 16' gazage door. The 9 1/4" LVL is not deep enough to
comply with the APA gazage portal bncing detail (shown on detail ENG-6/D2). A new I 1 1/4"
deep header must be installed per the following procedure (all work may be done from the
interior of the gazage so that all exterior finishes may remain):
1. Remove all drywal] from the inside face of the front garage wall.
2. Cut and remove cripple wall studs located above the exisring door header.
3. Install a new (2) 1 3/4" x 11 1/4" LVL header directly on top of the existing header. The new
header should be the same length as the existing header. The new header does not need to be
nailed to the existing header.
4. Install new cripple wall studs from the top of the new header to the underside of the double top
plate.
5. Install min. 3/8" wood structural sheathing to the entire interior face of the front garage wall
using the same nailing pattem as indicated on the attached detail. The sheathing shall be installed
from the bottom of the bottom plate to the top of the top plate, and for the entire length of this
wall.
6. Install drywall over the interior sheathing as needed.

Please find attached two checks in the amount of $5,000 each made payable to the City of
Eagan. This is to be placed in escrow for the completion of exterior items in order to
obtain a temporazy certificate of occupancy. The checks aze for:
4893 Steeplechase Court, Toll lot #4H. Temporazy C.O. already issued
4830 Steeplechase Circle, Toll lot #6. Temporazy C.O. issued today.
The escrow money is held for completion of retaining walls, sod and final approval of
grading. Once these items aze complete, Toll Brothers will request a final exterior
inspection. Once approved, the escrow will be retumed to Toll Brothers.
