Dear Chad,
For TBI Lot #007, install horizontal7/16" OSB sheathing on one face of the front garage
walls from the bottom of the bottom plate to the top of the top plate using 8d. nails at 3"
o.c. edge nailing and 6" o.c. field nailing. The edges of the OSB must be blocked. The
sheathing may be installed on the interior OR the exterior of the walL (1) LTT20B
Simpson holdown is required at the locations indicated on the attached plan. See
attached calculations and holdown detail for more information.

At your reyuest we have performed a structural analysis of the
5 T. P A U L. M N "tall wall" assemblies at the Family Room and Foyer fur the referenced
residence. Information regnrding the frucning at thcsc locations was taken
s s i o s- i z 6 o from the construction documents prepared by Toll Architecture,
dated 6-9-06. The following are our comments and recommendations for
these walls:
1. 2x6 wall studs at 16" on center aze adequate structurally.
2. Some wall stud configurations at beam bearing conditions are not
adequate. We have provided recommendations for framing at these
locations (see 1/A.7and 3/A.7 attached).
3. Note that the stud framing shown on the curren[ construction
documents and in our recommendations for the Family Room and
Foyer have a maximum deflecrion ratio of span/180 under wind
toading per ASCE Standard 7-98. This deflection does not cause a
concem regarding the structural performance of the framing, but we
cannot comment on the performance of the exterior/interior finishes.
It is the responsibility of the Architect and Owner to verify the effects
of the lateral movement on the proposed finishes with tUe finish
suppliers.
