You have been notified under the Minnesota Statutes dealing with the elimi-
nation of hazardous homes to correct the situation around the residence
owned by you at 1770 Taconite Trail in Eagan. As yet, you have made only
some very minor corrections that are not satisfactory to the City of Eagan
nor to the residents who are affected living in the general area.
This is notice to you unless these problems are either corrected to the City
staff's satisfaction within ten (10) days of the receipt of this letter or
satisfactory arrangements are made with the City staff by calling my office,
the City will have no choice but to commence the work by hiring a contractor
to do the work and then assessing the work to the property according to Minn-
esota law.
Therefore, I am asking that you lay out in writing a specific program as to
corrections that you intend.to make and if you do not do this, we will have
no choice but to take the action that I mentioned above.

In official action that was taken by the Eagan city council
at a regular meeting held on Tuesday, August 7, 1979, the
petition you submitted on behalf of neighborhood residents
was accepted and the City Attorney was directed to start
proceedings against Mr. Kleven to clean up his property.
It is necessary that the City of Eagan allow the required
time for the legal notice process for Mr. Kleven to clean
up his property. If Mr. Kleven is not willing or is unable
to clean up his property the City will perform the work and
assess his property accordingly.
I would appreciate you providing notice to your neighbors
of the action taken by the City Council. I will keep you
informed as to how the matter is progressing.
Thank you for the petition and your appearance at the City
Council meeting last Tuesday.
