Regular Meeting of the Board
July 10, 1991
The regular meeting of the Board was held at Signal Bank on
Wednesday, July 10 at 7:00 P.M. Members present were Jerry
Scholten, Bob Scholz, Mike Urbanski, JoAnn Van Camp, Bud
DeMarais, Joe Robinson and Ethel Otteson, Treasurer.
Minutes of the June meeting were approved.
The treasurer's report was approved. The Board advised that
our attorney take legal action if necessary regarding delin-
quent dues.
Architectural - Balconies at 3695 Denmark and at 1270 Timber-
shore were approved. Landscaping at 1207 Timbershore and at
3663 Denmark was approved.
Front door units - A replacement was approved for 3636 Kolstad
Road.
Garage doors - Several panels have been replaced. Work is pro-
gressing.
Trees/Lawn - Tree trimming will begin this week. Plantings in
the Common Area will done as soon as weather permits. Twenty
sprinklers will be purchased and distributed. The Board dis-
cussed the problem at 3659 Denmark concerning a tree which is
causing structural damage. Bob Scholz made a motion that the
tree be remover at a cost not to exceed $500. Motion seconded
and passed.
Painting - Two buildings have been completed. The following
buildings remain to be painted this year:

3659-3665 Denmark 3634-3636 Denmark
1296-1302 Kolstad Ln. 111297-1281 Timbershore
We ask your cooperation. When work begins on your building,
please consult the painter, and he will let you know when to
remove screens and also remove all furniture, grills etc. from
balconies.
Roofs - Nine buildings have been completed. Two remain to be
roofed this year,1272-1278 and 1223-1229 Timbershore.
The meeting adjourned at 8:10 P.M. The next meeting will be
held at Signal Bank on Wednesday, August 14 at 7:00 P.M.

THE TIMBERLINE
BICYCLES AND TRICYCLES on the street and driveways - Please
remember that the driveways are shared by all residents of a
particular court. It is a nuisance to have to dodge bikes and
toys when exiting or entering a driveway. It is also a safety
hazard. Your child's safety is at stake.
BALCONIES - Replacement of rotten or broken balcony or deck
boards is the responsibility of the individual homeowner. It has
been observed that some people have put carpet on their balcony
and balcony steps. This practice is NOT recommended as the
carpet retains water when it rains and will cause the boards
under the carpet to rot very rapidly. Rotten and carpeted boards
are a breeding ground for carpenter ants which can cause severe
damage to the balcony and the rest of the building which the
individual homeowner will be responsible for repairing.
CAUTION - GARAGE DOORS - DO NOT PUSH THE INSIDE GARAGE DOOR
OPENER BUTTON THEN RUN OUT OF YOUR GARAGE UNDER THE CLOSING
DOOR! Recently we had a near-accident when someone did this.

THIS YEAR, THIS LETTER WILL CONFIRM THE PROBLEMS WE ARE EXPERIENCING
WITH OUR TOWNHomE. IN A LETTER DATED MARCH 5, 1974 To NEW HORIZON
HOLIES C/o rtR. JOHN RADISON, WE DID ASK THAT SOME OF THESE PROBLEMS
BE TAKEN CARE OF, BUT THEY WERE NOT THUS CAUSING MORE SEVERE STRUCTUAL
DAMAGE. FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF THOSE PROBLEMS.
1) EITHER THE GARAGE FLOOR SINKS FROM FOUR TO SIX INCHES OR THE
APRON RISES BY THAT MUCH EACH WINTER.
2) THE DOOR LEADING FROM THE GARAGE TO THE LOWER LEVEL DOES NOT
CLOSE PROPERLY DURING THE WINTER CAUSING A LOT OF OUTSIDE COLD INTO
THE HOUSE.
3) CRACKS IN THE GARAGE FLOOR HAS SPREADED INTO THE LOWER LEVEL
CAUSING THE TILE ON THE FLOOR TO CRACK ABOUT TWO INCHES WIDE FROM THE
DOOR INTO THE STORAGE AREA UNDER THE STAIRS.
4) THE FRONT DOOR IS UNUSABLE DURING THE WINTER BECAUSE OF WHAT
WE BELIEVE TO BE A SHIFT IN THE TOWNHOME FOUNDATION OR WALLS CAUSING
THE DOOR TO BE STUCK CLOSED. THE WALL ON THE LANDING LIFTS ABOUT
TWO INCHES FROM THE LANDING DURNG THIS TIME LEAVING A BIG CRACK IN
THE DOOR FOR THE COLD AIR TO COME IN.
5) BECAUSE OF THE ABOVE PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT DOOR AND WALL, A
CRACK ABOUT A HALF INCH WIDE AND THREE AND A HALF FEET LONG ALONG
THE WALL LEADING FROM THE DOOR TO THE LIVING ROOM HAS WHAT WE BELIEVE
CAUSED SOME OF THE WORSE DAMAGE. THIS DAMAGE OCCURRED THIS PAST

WINTER INDICATING TO US THAT THINGS ARE GETTING WORSE. ALTHOUGH IN
OUR BEDROOM SOME CRACKS WERE REPAIRED IN 1976, MORE CRACKS HAVE
DEVELOPED. ON EACH SIDE OF THE WINDOW CRACKS HAVE APPEARED, ALSO,
ON THE SAME WALL NEAR THE CORNER A CRACK ABOUT A QUARTER-INCH FROM
THE CEILING TO THE FLOOR HAS APPEARED.
6) OUTSIDE, THE FRONT STEPS AND THE BLACKTOP DRIVEWAY ARE ABOUT
FOUR INCHES APART.
7) THE DIVIDER BETWEEN OUR YSRD AND THE TOWNHOME BEHIND US IS AND
HAS ALWAYS BEEN SHORTER THAN THE DECKS IT WAS MEANT TO SUPPORT.
HOWEVER, THE BUILDER HAD PUT A BLOCK OF WOOD BETWEEN IT AND THE DECKS
UNTIL THE MAINTENANCE PEOPLE KNOCKED OVER THE DIVIDER. IT WAS
REQUESTED THAT THE DIVIDER BE REPAIRED, IT WAS BUT NO SUPPORT FOR THE
DECKS WERE REPLACED. WE FIRMLY BELIVE THAT BOTH DECKS ARE SOMEWHAT
WEAKENED BY THIS LACK OF SUPPORT.
WE'VE JUST HAD OUR TOWNHOME APPRAISED AND KNOW THIS LIST OF
DAMAGED PORTIONS OF OUR HOME HAS LOWERED THE VALUE OF IT. WE HOPE
THIS REQUEST FOR REPAIRS OF DAMAGES NOT OF OUR MAKING WILL BE TAKEN
CARE OF WITH EXPEDIENCE. WE THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOU COOPERATION.
