SUBJECT: 3956 WESTBURY WAY - JULY 2000 STORM
The resident at the above address, Norma Renneberg, has requested that her area of Westbury
Addition be placed on the list of future areas to be studied for possible mitigation improvements (see
attached letter).
Joel Rausch met with her earlier this week on the property, which is just south of the Westbury Way
and Westbury Trail intersection. The intersection is a low point and Ms. Renneberg that it flooded
and got into the garage and a little bit into the utility room on the 1 n floor. Joel says there appears to
a relatively simple solution to protect the house. Minor grading along the property line to the east
could provide an EOF for the low to drain south into the City parkland. The grading plan for the
development does not depict an EOF at this location. Joel suggested to Ms. Renneberg that perhaps
she could accomplish the work with the cooperation of her neighbors, but Joel got the sense that she
wants the City to study the situation and do the possible grading.
We have not received any information on additional flooding of structures in this area. I have placed
this memo in the "Superstorm/ Fuhue 5tudy Requests" file in the Engineering drive for future
reference.

I have read in the Sun Current that a meeting was held recently regarding
the flood victims and that the City was looking at having Engineers go out
and look at the current drainage that is in the Eagan azea. I am concerned
that we may be overlooked. I was wondering if the Westbury neighborhood
is going to be considered in that study because as of today we have
experienced flooding 3 times since we have been here and we moved
in 1987. Our neighbors have experienced the same difficulties as we
have and i feel that if you could come out and consider looking at the
drainage system I would greatly appreciate it.
If you would like to reach me with any additional questions, please feel

pictures and videos if you need any information on how the water flows
azound the houses.
