Dear Jan,
As a follow-up to ow discussion Thursday, I would like to recind my application for the
permit that was issued for a dinette/four season porch with basement underneath.
As I mentioned, the amount of rubbish found after excavating for the footings was more
than I had anticipated, and feel that it is not wise to build on such questionable soil and be
tying into an existing structure where the soil has been properly prepared. Attached is a
picture of one of the tree roots uncovered during the digging. Lazge boulders were also
unearthed.
My alternative will be to draw up new plans for a three season porch and deck, and apply
for that sometime next yeaz..
