This letter is to verify that McDonald Construction has abided by the City of Eagan's Tree
Preservation Ordinxnce on Lot 58, $lock l, Mallazd Park 4'" Addition.
Durin-, a site visit on December 1,1997 all the significant trees designated to be saved on the
'Cree Preservation Plan prepared by McCombs, Frank. Roos Associatzs, Inc. on 5-26-95 were
located and found to be in good health µith the exception of tree #,391, a 20" bur oak which had
been removed due to its location within the proposed building pad area and vee k392, a 24" bur
oak which according to the builder and the tree removal contractor clearing the lot, was removed
because i[ was 90% dead I examined portions of this tree after it had been cut down and found
many large branches that were dead and a few small twigs that were green and still alive. In
addition there was dark staining evident in some of the cut cross sec[ions of the trunk. I can
verify that a portion of this aee was dead. but having not seen the tree beFore it was cut down,
I'm unable to accurately ytate the percentage of the tree that was dead or alive.
A portion of the lot has been clcared and the house pad has been staked. Tree protectivn fence
has been ins[alled around tree 9387. As you stated in our phone conversation on ! 2-3-9i,
additional tree fence needs to be instatled outside the dripline of tree # 158 and alono the east
boundar} of the lot as shown on the tree certitication and silt fence needs to be placed along the
woodland edge to prevent sediments entering the wedand.
