As per your request, I'm sending you this email with a description of the recently submitted documents for
Revision #3, dated January 18, 2006:
The originally submitted documents dated September 23, 2005, had a coordination error between the structural
and the architectural and mechanical roof top unit plans, specifically roof top units 1, 2, 3, 13 and 14.
Construction proceeded per the approved structural plans, as far as the roof top unit locations. It was discovered
when the contractor noticed the difference between the plans, specifically the number of units, when laying out
the roof framing. The structural documents originally showed 14 roof top units and the mechanical plans showed
13. Original plans for Best Buy, prior to submittal for permit had offices in the northwest corner, final submitted
plans for permit moved those offices to the northeast corner, eliminating the need for a roof top unit in the
northwest corner. Structurai didn't pick up on these changes. What was originally labeled unit 13 on the
structural documents (northwest comer) was eliminated at iYs original location (Revision #3 bubbled location in
northwest corner showing no roof top unit) and correctly located to where it is shown on Revision #3 documents,
replacing roof top unit 14 location. Roof top units 1, 2 and 3 roof structure had already been placed per the
structural documents prior to noticing the number discrepancy by the contractor, so architectural and mechanical
plans (Revision #3) were revised to match the structural locations. The roof structure for units 1, 2, 3 and 13 was
specifically designed for these roof top units in their original locations, so there are no structural issues. The
mechanical plans have been revised to coordinate the roof top unit locations and modify the air distribution for
units 3 and 13.
