In the interest of achieving these objectives the City of Eagan has established a comprehensive Vee preservation policy relating to the: • Protection and preservation of the environment and natural beauty of the City, • Assurance of orderly development within wooded areas to minimize tree and habitat loss, • Evaiuation of the impacts to trees and wooded areas resulting from deveiopment, • Estabiishment of minimal standards for Vee preservation and the mitigation of environmental impacts resulting from tree removal, • Provision of incentives for creative land use and environmentally compatible site design which preserves trees and minimizes Vee removal and clearcutting during development, and • Enforcement of tree preservation policy to promote and protect the public health, safety and welfare of the community. APPLICATION This policy shall apply to the following sites in the City of Eagan: 1. All individual lots where residential construction is to take place. INDIVIDUAL LOT DEVELOPMENT - SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCES The following process for preserving trees shall be required of all Builders. BUILDER REQUIREMENTS Except where no Significant Trees or Significant Woodlands exist within the Construction Area of the site, the City requires that an individual lot Tree Preservation Plan be submitted no later than application for a building permit. (See exampie of individual lot Tree Preservation Plan on back, Page 9.) The plan shall be consistent with the original tree preservation plan for the plat, where said pian exists.
