Dear Mr. Durenberger:
In response to a request by the Owner, I inspected remodeling work at 2825 Vilas Lane done by Jensen-Jensen
Construction. The Owner informed me that the Building Contractor, Nick Jensen, told him he did not need
permits and that he could do all the work himsel£ Jensen-Jensen Construction performed plumbing, electrical,
heating and framing work at this residence without required licenses or permits.
The Owners have had a numher of problems with Mr. 7ensen's work. Mr. Jensen told them he is no longer
willing to do work at their house and refuses to refund any of the money they have paid or repair what he has
changed so far.
I found the lower level bathroom was almost complete and the upstairs bathroom had been demolished down to
the studs. This work did not comply with the MN Building Codes or the City of Eagan requirements. Mark
Anderson, State Electrical Inspector, met me at the site and checked the electrical work, which did not meet the
requirements of the State Electrical Board. As a result, I issued a"Stop Work" order on the job.
The City of Eagan has previously experienced problems with this contractor and has notified your office of this.
We are asking your office to investigate the possibility of revoking this contractor's license.
