Gentlemen,
I'am writing in regard to problems I experienced this
winter in my townhouse.
First I could not use my front door from January thru April
2nd. On the 2nd it finely settled back enough so I could
get it open. I have cracking of 2 x 4 around the door
- and cracking in the wall by the steps. The basement door
into the garage moved about one inch apart so I could not
lock it. All I got was a draft thru it. Also the wall
from the outside wall to basement door had a opening
' underneath of about k inch with nothing but cold air coming
in.
I also had about a one inch opening between wall and
ceiling in the bathroom, hallway, both bedrooms and closet.
My front steps have a big crack in it, also the slab that
the air conditioner is on has a crack that split and pushed
the unit into the steps until it warmed up. There are about
four cracks in cement slab in front of garage door.
I feel that the cement work was very very poor and something
should be done. A contractor should not be allowed to
get away with such poor work . Heshould have to stand
behind his work. The boards in this house cannot take this
accordion type movement every year without something giving.
