Our analysis was limited to members judged to represent the typical framing member conditions and capacities at the referenced site. We understand you added an attached membrane without ballast. For our analysis, we have used existing roof joist and deck shop drawings dated 8/27/91 supplied by Vulcraft. Original building structural drawings were not available. The building roof structure consists of steel joist and steel joist girders with metal roof deck. The joists are typically spaced at 5' -7%2" with span length varying from 23' to 66' -6 ". The joist girders typically span 45' -0 ". The original building design total roof loading was 59 psf with 40 psf of that for snow load. The weight of the new roofing, provided by you, adds less than 1 psf dead load. The current Minnesota State Building Code (based on IBC 2006) has reduced the flat roof snow load from 40 psf to 35 psf . Based on our analysis of the members judged to represent the typical framing member capacities, it is our opinion that the roof structural members are judged structurally acceptable for the current loading including the new roofing. The information presented in this report is based on existing shop drawing provided by the joist supplier and material weight provided by you. No physical testing has been performed. This report does not address any portion of the structure other than the members mentioned.
