I do have receipts from Home Depot and Menards showing that the 12 inch by 48 inch tubes and bags of concrete were purchased to perform the work. My father and I did the work ourselves we state that the above information is correct. It should also be known that we reused the existing center footing, a 6x6 post, pre poured in the concrete at the time of the patio installation by the previous owner. Before the new deck installation we discussed with the person that installed this post that it was a 12 foot long post buried in the ground 4 feet below the patio in a 16 inch hole. This post held up the previous deck for approximately 2-3 years before I purchased the home. The final inspection was performed on 8/19/2009. On that date it was discovered at no footle: section had bee called for and/or performed. At least one or both of the two footings In question were poured into the patio slab below. The City realizes that in order to verify the depth and diameter of the footing(s) the concrete patio would have to be partially demolished. co in lieu of doing that we will accept and affidavit from you stating the depth and diameter of the footings that were installed per the reviewed plan.
