Dear Mr. Bauer,
This letter is in response to your letter to Margo Leslie, President, dated December 11, 2007. Per your
instructions, representatives of our Board of Directors have met with Eric Macbeth, Water Resources
Coordinator, on two occasions.
Clear cutting of the easement was done several years ago when dead timber and dry brush (picture
available) was identified as a fire hazard by our insurance company. The easement has been restored
with trees and perennial plants, since the clear cutting. There are presently over 5o mature trees on
the easement, composed mostly of pine trees.
The restoration of the easement over the past several 5 to 7 years has included the following:
Lot # 14: C rown vetch has been planted over the entire area.
Lot # 13: Day lillies, blackeyed susans, and crown vetch have been planted.
Lot # 12: Dogwoods, roses and day lillies have been planted.
Lot # 11: Pine trees (8), day lillies and red plum barberry shrubs have been planted.
Lot # lo: Lilac bushes and an autumn blaze maple tree have been planted.
Lot # 9: Pine trees cover the area.
Lot # 8, 7, 6: Perennial gardens, containing a variety of plants, have been planted.
Outdoor garden lighting has been installed behind lots number 7 and 6.
Lot # 5: The area has been a lawn since the units were built.
Our future plans will be to add additional plant material with the prior approval of the Director of the
Eagan Park Department. Since the Easterly boundary of the easement is adjacent to Heine Pond Park,
we need to have the Director of the Eagan Park Department meet with our Board of Directors to make
sure our plan and their plan for the park area are compatible. Please have the Director of the Eagan
Park Department contact me at 651-452-5044 to schedule this meeting.
