Dear Mr. Kevin Manley:
As per your request I made a site visit to the aforementioned addresses. The purpose of the site visit was to evaluate the great room
walls. In addition I reviewed the detail and letters that were produced by our office on 10- 21 -09.
Observations:
While the framing arrangement is different than we had detailed the tallest part of the wall is framed with a higher grade material than
we originally specified. Connecting hardware was not installed.
Remedial Work Required:
1. At headers install Simpson A35 framing angle at each end of header, one per end (i.e. exterior sheathing does not need to be
removed.
2. At king studs install USP A3TZ (A23Z) framing angle top and bottom each side on intermediate king studs and one side only
on the king studs that form the outer most mullion on the window sets.
