903 Wild Rose Ct - Water Main EmailMichelle Lutovsky From: Russ Matthys Sent: Tuesday, February 03, 2009 9:35 AM To: Dale Schoeppner; Terry Zelenka Cc: Wayne Schwanz; Dave Westermeyer; Leon Weiland Subject: 903 Wild Rose Ct - Water Main Gents, Here is how we plan to proceed with the proposed construction of the house at 903 Wild Rose Ct. with regards to the water main location. The contractor will not be obligated to expose the water main; that is his decision to make in regards to his responsibility to protect the house and water main. The contractor will be obligated to construct the footing for the house in the area potentially impacted by future water main excavation to a depth that will not place the City in a position of potential liability due to any construction activity that may undermine the house footing. Prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy, Utility staff will get a depth on the water main nearest the house. If the depth of the house footing in this area is not adequate to protect the City from potential future liability, as described in the previous scenario, the Certificate of Occupancy will not be issued until this matter is resolved by the builder. Leon will get elevations on the footing of the house at the corner closest to the water main and at 20 feet on both sides of the corner at the time it is constructed.
