A letter addressed to Paul Hauge from the Dakota County Park Director concerning the Eagan Council's request for a meeting relating to the zoo interceptor assessment appeal of Dakota County was read. Upon notion by Wachter, seconded Rahn, all members voting yes, it was RE50LVED that the three force mains above mentioned be ordered installed as a change order to Pr~~~ect 4144 consistir_g of read improve- ments for L7ild~rness R~!n Road, JOi~1idY Cr,I~E RIDGE R03L1 Ii4P~O~T22EPIT5, The City Lngineer reviewed with the Council a request of the Minnesota Zoological Board for a meeting to be held with Eagan ar_d Apple Valley officials and Minnesota Tdighway Department requesting that legislation be submitted to the 1976 Legislature for improvement of Johnny Cake Ridge P.oad. It would provide that Apple Valley and Eagan pay for their respsc-- tive one mile of road improvements on Johnny Cake Ridge from state aid fund beginning at a future time on a deferred basis without interest. The estimated cost is $375,000 for the project. The Council members suggested informally that in the event that an agreement is reached for submission of legislation, that the beginning date be set off to perhaps 1950 ar-~d that the period cover at least fifteen years without interest. Generally the Council was opposed to improving Johnny Cake P.idge F.oad at the expense of the City and there uas no formal action taken. The Engineer also reviewed a proposed construction schedule and funding of county roads ir. Eagan from 197b through 19x0. He also made suggestions con- cerning street improvements within the City of Eagan on city streets, including estimated cost together with possible assessment proposals. i3o action was t~ke~~ on these issues.
