11/09/1994 - City Council Special MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE EAGAN CITY COUNCIL Eagan, Minnesota November 9, 1994 A special meeting of the Eagan City Council was held on Wednesday, November 9, 1994 at 5:30 p.m. at the Eagan Municipal Center in the office of the City Administrator. Present were Mayor Egan and Councilmembers Masin and Hunter. Absent were Councilmembers Wachter and Awada. Also present were City Administrator Tom Hedges, Director of Finance Gene VanOverbeke, and Administrative Assis- tant/Deputy Clerk Liz Witt. CANVASS F:MUNI IPAL ELECTION >~$ULT Director of Finance/City Clerk VanOverbeke and Administrative Assistant/Deputy Clerk Witt explained that Minnesota state law requires a municipality to canvass the ballots of an election within three days to make the results official. A copy of the results by precinct, along with a general analysis of election day registrations, total registered voters, those voting in person and absentee, and the total voting and percentage of voter turnout were reviewed by the City Council. Hunter moved, Masin seconded, a motion to review the results of the 1994 municipal election and declare the results of the election as official. Aye: 3 Nay: 0 S CIAL CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP. City Administrator Hedges stated that staff is making an effort to coordinate a field trip to the City of Apple Valley to inspect a townhouse housing project that Dakota County HRA built in that community. He further stated that the project is very similar to a proposal the HRA will be presenting to the City of Eagan for official Council action during the next 2-3 months. City Councilmembers expressed a willingness to review the project and in a motion by Hunter, seconded by Masin, the motion to hold a workshop within the corporate boundaries of Apple Valley for the purpose of touring an HRA townhouse project with public officials from both the HRA and City of Apple Valley.
