MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
EAGAN CITY COUNCIL
Eagan, Minnesota
October 25, 1993
A Special meeting of the Eagan City Council was held on Monday, October 25, 1993 at 5:00 p.m.
at the Eagan Municipal Center building. Present were Mayor Egan and City Councilmembers Awada,
Hunter, Masin and Wachter. Also present were Chief Building Official Reid, Director of Community
Development Reichert, Director of Finance VanOverbeke, Fire Chief Nelson, Chief of Police Geagan,
Assistant to the City Administrator Hohenstein and City Administrator Hedges. The purpose of the meeting
was to tour the Golden Valley and Plymouth City Halls with the City's architect, Dewey Thorbeck and Mike
Stowe, E & V Construction Management.
TOURS OF GOLDEN VALLEY & PLYMOUTH CITY HALLS
The City Council proceeded to the City of Golden Valley and were given an extensive tour by Lloyd
Becker, Chief Building Official for the City of Golden Valley. Next on the tour was an on-site visit to the new
law enforcement building for the City of Plymouth constructed in 1992 and their existing City Hall facility.
City Council members and staff visited with Mr. Stowe and Mr. Thorbeck in the van about the building
program, receiving Information on the various cost differentials for remodeling and further discussion on the
cost and appropriate alternative for the Municipal Center/Public Safety Expansion Project. The tour
concluded at approximately 8:00 p.m. returning to the Eagan Municipal Center building.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mayor Egan convened an executive session for the purpose of further discussing the proposed
settlement agreement the LMCIT Is proposing for the federal action Bieter vs. Bea Blomquist and the state
action which Includes the City of Eagan City Attorney Jim Sheldon joined the City Council and City
Administrator for the executive session which ended at approximately 8:45 p.m.

There was no additional business.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
