06/28/1983 - City Council Special 0(' IT 8 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE EAGAN CITY COUNCIL EAGAN, MINNESOTA JUNE 28, 1983 A special meeting of the Eagan City Council was held on Tuesday, June 28, 1983, at 7:00 p.m. at the Eagan City Hall. Present were Mayor Blomquist, and City Councilmembers Smith, Thomas, Egan, and Wachter. Also present was City Administrator Hedges. CHIEF OF POLICE INTERVIEWS The City Council interviewed two candidates to be considered for the Chief of Police position. Persons- interviewed were C.F. Myhr, presently Chief of Police in Muscatine, Iowa, and Jay Berthe, acting Chief of Police for the City of Eagan. Two (2) thirty-minute interviews were conducted for each candidate and following the final interview, had a brief discussion of each candidates's qualifications. It is decided that a final selection would be made at the regular City Council meeting on July 5. INFORMATIONAL The City Administator discussed several informational items updating the City Council on the progress of the new City Hall, a brief discussion of the acquisition of additional parkland on Fish Lake and a problem that had occurred with the Cable Television Franchise Ordinance that was under final review by Tom Creighton, the City's legal counsel for the Cable Television Franchise in process.
