CALL TO ORDER Mayor Awada called the meeting to order at 11 :30. CENTRAL PARK UPDATE AND PENDING ISSUES Mayor Awada discussed her strong interest in developing a streetscaping plan for the entire central area. She stated that there should be a cohesive approach to the development of any roads or road improvements within the central area, defined loosely as the area between Lexington Avenue, the Ring Road and Community Center, and including Cedarvale. She stated that the Council would discuss the matter as a group on January 30 and would provide direction to staff at that time to move forward with a plan. Councilmember Carlson arrived at 12:00. Mr. Symynkywicz reviewed three options for the NW A road connection, varying in length, location and price. After review and discussion, the committee determined the best recommendation would be to maintain the current proposed road alignment. Mr. Symynkywicz reviewed three options for the wetland feature on the site and its interaction with the building and the purposes identified by the committee, including analysis of the amount of wetland mitigation needed and price. After brief discussion, the committee agreed on a set of recommendations to make to the full Council, including minimal wetland mitigation, a water feature and a skating rink to free from storm water impact.
