SPECIAL MEETING OF BOARD OF SUPERVISORS. EAGAN TOWNSHIP
A special meeting of the Board of Supervisors, Eagan Tow.n8h1p, was
held jointly with the BOard of Supervisors of Burnsville Township at the
Burnsville Town Hall on April 2&b, 1961, at 8:00 P.M. at which all lIembers
were present except Supervisor Trapp.
The meeting was called together by Chairman Rahn after which a di.-
cuss ion was had concerning the increase in valuations in the two townships
causing substantial tax increases with inequitable results to the resi-
dents of the two townships.
The ~own Attorney presented an opinion regarding the procedure in-
volved and the reasons given by the Commissioner ot Taxation for the in-
crease.
Upon Illotion duly made by Supervisor Schwanz and seconded by Chairman
Rahn, it was RESOLVED that the Town Attornel be, and he herebl 1s, author-
ized to investigate the facts leading up to this increase includiftg the
methods used by the Collllli.ssioner of Taxat10n... County Board and Auditor and
such other information as will enable the Board of Supervisors to deter-
mine whether any action for abat.ement tbroushout the township in conjunc..
tioft with Burnsnlle Township should be sought.
It was noted that a like resolution was passed... bl the Burnaville
Board of Supervisors authorizing their Town Attomey, Leonard Benteon,
Lakeville, Minnesota, to work in conjunction with the Eagan Township
Town Attorn.,. in this effbrt.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned.
