MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
EAGAN T~NSHIP, DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA.
February 20, 1965
A special meeting of the Board of Supervisors, Engan Township,
Dnkota County, was held on February 20, 1965 at 1:30 o'clock P. M. at
the town hall at which all members were prescnt.
Chairman Rahn announced that the principal purpose of the meeting
was to consider the issuance of bonds for a fire truck and a road grader
for the Town. The Town Attorney reviewed the law concerning issuance
of bonds for these purposes and explained that it was the opinion of
local bonding attorneys that the voting for these purposes must be held
at the town hall only. upon motion duly made and seconded, it was
RESOLVED that an election be, and it hereby is, scheduled to be held
at the annual town meeting of Eagan Township on March 9, 1965 at the
town hall providing that th; electors determine by said vote whether to
purchase a fire truck in the sum of not to exceed $18,000 and that a
separate determination be made by the electors whether to purchase a road
grader in the sum not to exceed $24,000, including the question whether
bonds should be issued for each of the two foregoing purposes; it was
further provided that the voting on these issues be held at the town
hall during the regular election hours.
After discussion and upon motion duly made and seconded, it was
RESOLVED that the Town Attorney be and he hereby is, authorized and .
directed to draft a proposed bill for introduction at the 1965 Minnesota
Legislative Session to provide that more than one polling place be
permitted for election by town electors on a proposed bond issue.
Treasurer Polzin reported that the current financial status of the
Township was as follows:

After discussion and u~on motion ~lly ma~e and seconded. it was
RESCLVED that $15,000 be transferred from toe Revenue Fund and $15,000
from the Road and Bridge Fund to the Fire Fund to overcome the deficit
over the past two-year period.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was RESOLVED that the bill
submitted by Foegre and Benson for bond attorneys fees be, and it hereby
is, directed for payment.
On motion duly made and seconded, it was RESOLVED that the appropriate
town officials be, and they hereby are, authorized to execute the contract
with the Census Bureau covering the special census in Eagan Township
during the year 1965. Upon further motion duly made and seconded, it
was RESOLVED that the Cle~k be, and she hereby is, authorized and
directed to pay the census takers in the Township according to the
previous agreement wi th th~; {_'~.lSUS Bureau.
