09/01/1964 - City Council Regular MATES OP REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF i/ISOR.S EAGAio TOWNSHIP, DAKOTA COUNTY September 1, 1964 A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors, Eagan Township, Dakota County, was held at the Town Hall on September 1, 1964 at 8:00 o'clock P. M. at which all members were present. Chairman Rahn presided. The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as read.. The following applications for building permits were presented: Rodney Billman, contractor (Dr. Y. Armajani - owner) 3030 McCarthy Ridge Reed, house and attached garage, 26' x 58' , estimated cost $30,000. 'dream Homes, Inc., contractor, Lot 8, Block 2, Oslund's Timberline Addition, house 48° x 28° plus garage, estimated cost $25,000, ' Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Klein and seconded b Supervisor Sehwanz, it was RESOLVED that the foregoing building permit appljAations IIIbe, and they hereby are, approved and the clerk directed to . sue tie;. requisite permits. The application of Morrissey Manufacturing Co., Inc., 290 iihnhepin Avenue, Minneapolis for rezdcting of two acres between Highway #13 and Beau de Rue Road in Section 19-27-23 from I-1 to 1-2 and for a building permit to construct an industrial building was presented. It was noted that the Advisory Planning Committee recommended denial of the rezoning on the ground that the property in question was presently zoned I-1, Light Industrial and appropriate for the /business of applicant. Upon motion duly made by Chairmen Rahn and seconded by Supervisor- Klein, it was RESOLVED that the rezoning as aforesaid be, and, the same hereby is, denied on the ground that the property is presently agriately zoned IIIfor the applicant's business; and it was FURTHER RESOLVED that a building permit for the construction of applicant°s- light r'tlanyf*cturing plant - 1 - for steel, fabrication be, and it hereby is, approved subject to the final approval of the„ Town Engineer as to the plans, specifications and site layout, the estimated cost of said building being $70,000. The Town Attorney reported in relation to gas rates for tank conversion during maintenance and testing periods by People's Natural Gas Company. Residents of the area involved appeared by way of complaint. as to the conversion charges made by the gas company. No formal action was taken. Chairman Rahn reported relative to the analysis of Twin City Testing Company regarding Gopher Smelting Operations and stated that Dr. Hammond of the University of Minnesota will present a written report relative to lead absorption, or lack of it, in the plant life in the area surrounding Gopher Smelting Plant at the next meeting of the Board. The Town Engineer's report relative to the request of William E. Rahn for acceptance of Bgrcher Lane and Lenore Lane in Clearview Addition was presented with the recommendation that it be accepted, provided that certain grading and weed cutting would be done prior thereto. Chairman Rahn tabled the matter until the September 15 Board meeting. The report of the Town Engineer concerning drainage':in Lots 3 and 4, Block 3, Cedar Grove #4 pursuant to the request of Mr. Neil Wright, 4386 Sandstone, was taken under advisement. The Town Attorney presented a proposed form of Noise Ordinance for Eagan Township. The matter was taken under advisement and tabled until the September 15 Board meeting, Upon motion duly made by Supervisor Klein and seconded by Chairman Rahn, it was RESOLVED that the Town Engineer be directed to forthwith prepare specifications for the seal coating of roods where necessary throughoutetlhe township and thereafter that the Town Attorney prepare appropriate bid- notices if required. - 2 Nick Schlosser, 1061 Keefe Street, appeared on behalf of his apCation for a building permit to place a trailer house, 50' x 20th i ' t'hid prpperty at an estimated cost of $9,000. Because of the nature of the proposed structure (two trailer homes set aide by side and in a teMi permanent fashion) the Board considered objections raised by neighbors in the area. The matter was discussed and then tabled for the September 15 Board meeting. The Board noted a letter from the Eagan fire chief regarding the condition of the present 1942 Chevrolet fire pumper and his proposal for securing a new truck.
