09/24/1968 - City Council Special 11lNU'IES OF SPEC1.AL NEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF EAGAN TOWNSHIP, DAKOTA COUNTY J MINNESOtA September 24, 1968 A special meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Eagan Township, Dakota County, Minnesota was held at 7:00 p. m. at the town hall. All members were present except Supervisor Rahn. The Chairman announced the convening of the assessment hearing for Eagandale Center Industrial Park No. 1 and No.2, sanitary sewer, water and street improvements pursuant to notice. Mr. Johnson appeared on behalf of Coca Cola Company. It was noted that there were no objections, written or oral. Upon motion by Chairman Klein, seconded by Supervisor Jacobson, it was RESOLVED that said aSsessment roll be adopted and that the roll be certified to the County Auditor. The Chairman then announced the assessment hearing concerning improve- ments in the area of Rahn Road, Langhoven and miscellaneous parcels pursuant to notice in the Dakota County Tribune and notice to property owners. It was noted that there were residents of Langhoven who appeared questioning costs of lateral sewer and water stub services. There were no written or oral objections. Upon motion by Chairman Kleint seconded by Supervisor Jacobson , it was RESOLVED that said assessment roll be, and hereby ls, adopted and the clerk be ordered to certify it to the County AUditol At 8:00 p. m. the Chairman announced the acceptance and opening of bids for the excavation attd street grading at the Eagan Well site South of Yankee Doodle Road. consisting of Project #l5.C. The following bids were submitted: - 1 - Rusting & Engstrom Gile & Nelson Construction Co. T. M. Willmus Construction Co. Carl Bolander & Sons Co. Marvin Rehbein Landscaping Carl H. Peterson Co. Ames Construction Robert Munns Forest Excavating Co. M. E. Kraft Grading Co., Inc. E & H Earth MOvers, Inc. $16,000.00 8,600.00 13,500.00 16,800.00 10,800.00 12,600.00 11,200.00 9,200.00 8,800.00 11 ,800. 00 7,960.00 upon motion by Chairman Klein, seconded by Supervisor Jacobson, it was tabulation. RESOLVED that said bids be referred to the town engineer for review and The Chai~n then announced the cOnvening of the public hearing concerning the preliminary report relative to the proposed utility building, pump house, street grading and excavation of the Eagan Well site. The town engineer reviewed the project with an estimated cost of $92,000.00 consisting of Public Improvement #15 and portions thereof. Upon motion made by Chairman Klein, seconded by Supervisor Jacobson, it was RESOLVED that sald preliminary report be, and hereby is, accepted. that the hearing be closed and that the project be ordered and further that the matter be referred to tbe town engineer for completion of the project. Upon motion by Chairman Klein, seconded by Supervisor Jacobson it was RESOLVED that the following contracts be let to the respective contractors pump as a part of Project IlSC: in the amounts designated for pump house. utility building and deep well General Contractor - Lieberg Construction Company - $33,220.00 Mechanical Contractor - Loosen Plumbing & Heating - $21.800.00 Electrical Contractor - Kostka Electric Company - $15,300.00 Upon motion by Supervisor Jacobson, seconded by Chairman Klein it was RESOLVED that Layne-Minnesota Company be. and hereby ls. awarded the contract for deep well project as a part of Project 115-C in the total sum of $8,447. Upon motion by Chai~an Klein, seconded by Supervisor Jacobson, it was RESOLVED that the contract for utility building site grading project part of Project #15C be, and hereby is, awarded to the apparent low bidder, E 6 H Earth Movers. Inc. in the amount of $1,960.00 subject however to a determination and report by the town engineer concerning the advisability of awarding the contract to said apparent low bidder.
